Gemma is Business Manager at Participate and has extensive experience of working in community development, business development and economic development roles. Gemma is responsible for project development, fundraising, bid writing, organisational policy and procedure and contract management. She has twelve years project management, fundraising and procurement experience and is a PRINCE2 practitioner.
AnthonyChief Executive
Anthony is the Chief Executive at Participate and has fifteen years’ experience of supporting social ventures through direct support and engagement of the private sector. He has strong local and national peer networks and a track record of partnership working and dissemination of best practice in this field. Anthony has worked directly with hundreds of new and growing enterprises and has established award winning support programmes.
TonyProject Director
Tony is our Project Director and is responsible for the development and delivery of projects and programmes inline with Participates strategy. Tony works closely with the CEO and board to identify and pursue opportunities to further Participates ability to support people and places. Tony was previously the CEO of a multi million pound community anchor organisation and brings a wealth of experience and skills to the team.
RachelSocial Venture Co-ordinator
Rachel is Social Venture Co-ordinator and responsible for Participates new-start programme and delivery of Social Venture School. Rachel has a strong background in supporting and empowering people to achieve in life and business. Rachel has experience of setting up business incubation space, delivering business support and developing high profile engagement activities.
LukeSocial Action Co-Ordinator / Networks Co-ordinator
Luke is our Social Action Co-ordinator. He is responsible for the delivery of our Good Team Building volunteering days and engaging new businesses, new community groups and new volunteers. He has over 11 years’ experience of working in the community and creating the right atmosphere for social action to take place. Luke is also responsible for co-ordinating business networks as part of Made in Keighley.
JillYouth Social Venture Co-Ordinator
Jill is our Youth Social Venture Co-ordinator and is responsible for the development and delivery of our youth citizenship programme. The programme supports primary school children to develop their own ideas for social change. Jill is a former primary school teacher and has experience of setting up a successful social venture to address a need she identified in her own community.
Ewan is an Associate and works as a consultant on organisational development for established social ventures; providing coaching and board facilitation around action planning and communications strategy. Ewan has a background in enterprise coaching and EU project management. He is an accredited and peer reviewed Solution Focused Coaching practitioner and avid user of Service Design tools.
KatherineMade in Manningham - Community Business Manager
Katherine leads the Made in Manningham programme – which inspires local people to start their own community businesses. Katherine is passionate about supporting local people and helping their ideas grow; she offers enterprise coaching to groups.
WajMade in Manningham / Keighley - Enterprise Coach
Waj is part of the ‘Made in’ team. He provides a positive and enthusiastic approach to enterprise coaching. He works with local entrepreneurs to inspire them to fulfil their community business goals in Manningham and the Keighley CLLD area
NatalieMade in Manningham - Marketing and Events Co-ordinator
Natalie is the Marketing and Events Co-ordinator for the Made in Manningham team. Her role involves spreading the word about the project by creating regular local newsletters, curating content for social media platforms and working closely with community businesses to support and promote their work in Manningham. She is passionate about helping others to achieve their aspirations and bringing communities together.
JonMade in Keighley - Enterprise Hub Co-ordinator
Jon manages the Made in Keighley Hub – a shop in the Airedale Shopping Centre where individuals and businesses can access hot-desking space, mentoring, coaching and workshops to establish and grow their business ideas. Jon is also responsible for our ‘heat map’ – a simple tool that provides a business with a diagnostic on their capacity and capability.
CeliaMade in Keighley - Enterprise Coach
Celia is an Enterprise Coach in the Made in Keighley team. Celia supports individuals and businesses within their first year of trading within the Keighley CLLD area. Celia provides coaching to help people establish and grow their business ideas.
IbrahimSocial Action Administrator
Ibrahim is part of our Social Action team; he supports the team with the development and delivery of social action programmes; including business engagement, community development projects, business start-up in deprived communities and young people’s social action projects.
MartynEnterprise Coach
Martyn is our Enterprise Coach; he is the main point of contact for people in Shipley and Bingley who are interested in setting up a business or becoming self employed.
ZakeriaEnterprise Coach
Martyn is our Enterprise Coach; he is the main point of contact for people in Manningham and Toller who are interested in setting up a business or becoming self employed.


Susan is the Manager of a large Shopping Centre in Leeds and brings a strong understanding of the commercial and private sector to the team. Susan is well networked and is keen to develop Participates reach and impact. Susan is also joint chair of Business Against Crime in Leeds, a member of Soroptimist International of Skipton in Craven and a Dementia Friends champion.
WarrenVice Chair
Warren is Chief Executive Officer of Sports Chaplaincy UK. He is also trustee of a number of charities including being Chair of the Bradford Bulls Foundation. He is a skilled and resourceful leader who loves to help people and organisations succeed. Warren is not just passionate about what we do, but how and why we do it. He has over 25 years of leadership experience crossing a wide variety of sectors.
Andy is a Manager at Unltd, a national organisation that finds and supports social entrepreneurs. He has wide experience of coordinating local services in deprived areas; developing partnerships between residents, public services and politicians. Andy was a founder trustee of Participate and the first Chair.
Ali is an independent consultant working in the charity sector and currently contracted in an operational role for a national health and social care charity. Ali has business development and communications experience gained in the finance and voluntary sectors. She has a great record of building teams, quality improvement, optimising costs and delivering the highest customer service standards.
Michael is a Finance Manager with extensive experience in a variety of sectors including the third sector, construction, manufacturing, transport and environmental services. He specialises in bookkeeping, management accounts and business planning. Michael is one the founder trustees of Participate.
Saj is the owner and operator of a chain of restaurants in Bradford, employing over 350 local people. Previous to this, he was the Head of Change Management, Training and Development for a worldwide brand. Saj grew up in Bradford and has a deep understanding of the communities where Participate works.
