Organisation Details

Denholme Primary School is very keen to develop outdoor space to be used by the local community, especially parents. This has included installing a polytunnel and creating small growing spaces. To develop the next parts of their plan.

Project Details

The challenge will include the below:

Removing existing raised beds
Relocating raised beds
Trimming large hedges – to create pathway
Maintaining willow house
Painting walls
Building raised beds

On-site support

On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A tools talk and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day.

Preparation

Volunteers will be undertaking DIY construction and painting activities and are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing that you will not mind getting paint on. We do offer paint overalls, although these do not guarantee no damage to clothing. We also require sensible sturdy footwear, avoiding heels and open toe footwear. Where personal protective equipment is required, it will be provided.
