Employability Sessions (Young People):

The centre is looking into why young people from Pakistani and Bangladeshi backgrounds miss out on opportunities in the job market. To help this, they are starting to host monthly employability workshops for local young people.

The idea of these workshops is that different businesses are able to discuss potential future job opportunities with the young people and paths they can take to get there. This could potentially give them something to aspire to, as well as give them an understanding of the various opportunities that are out there for them. It is fairly informal and mainly just a chance for the young people to meet employees from various sectors, which could push them a step further in unlocking their potential. This is a real opportunity to make a difference to the lives of these young people. Support needed:

  • Delivery of employability session to young people around place of work, opportunities that exist and pathways they can take to achieve this.
