ACAP supports children, young people, and communities of African and Caribbean descent, while also welcoming all backgrounds. They empower them through various initiatives, including pioneering mentoring programs, STEM clubs, tutoring, and parental training for educational achievement. Additionally, ACAP promotes health and well-being via classes, mental health support, and fosters cultural pride through arts, culture activities, and community engagement.
Project Details
ACAP have recently benefitted from a full premises renovation. The final element is to now paint the whole building. Below is a breakdown of what this will entail:
- Preparing surfaces
- Two coats of Acrylic Durable Matt on walls
- Gloss all skirting boards and doors Date
Date & Volunteer Number
We have identified three days for this project to be delivered. In this instance we are looking for teams on all sizes to support us on any of the below dates:
– Tuesday 26th August 2025
– Wednesday 27th August 2025
– Thursday 28th August 2025
On-site support
On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A “Tools Talk” and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day.
Preparation
Volunteers will be undertaking painting activities and are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing that you will not mind getting paint on. We do offer paint overalls, although these do not guarantee no damage to clothing. We also require sensible sturdy footwear, avoiding heels and open toe footwear. Where personal protective equipment is required, it will be provided.
Materials, tools and equipment
Tools and materials will be provided by Participate Projects.
