Lower Grange Community Centre is a community-run organisation dedicated to enhancing local wellbeing. They offer diverse programmes including education & skills training, youth & adult engagement and community involvement initiatives. The centre encourages residents to propose ideas for community improvement and provides volunteer opportunities with mentoring support. Their programme encompasses language courses, sewing workshops, refugee support events, playgroups, fitness sessions, environmental action days and a number of activities centred around Bradford 2025. These are all aimed at fostering a stronger, healthier community.

Project Details

Policies and Procedures Support:

The centre is seeking support to review and update its existing policies and procedures. Ensuring these documents are current, comprehensive and aligned with best practices will help strengthen the organisation’s governance, compliance and overall effectiveness. If you have expertise in policy development and compliance, your support could make a significant impact! Support needed:

  • Updating existing policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date with legislation.

Business Plan Support:

The centre is looking for an experienced business planner to help develop a clear and sustainable strategy for the future. This plan will serve as a roadmap for growth, financial stability and long-term impact. Support needed:

  • Defining vision and goals – clarifying the centre’s mission, values, and long-term
  • Sustainability planning – exploring funding models, income generation and cost effective operations to ensure financial resilience.
  • Service development – assessing current programmes and identifying opportunities for expansion or improvement.
  • Stakeholder engagement – understanding the needs of the community, funders and partners to shape a relevant and impactful strategy.
  • Roadmap implementation – creating a step-by-step plan with measurable milestones to track progress.

Promotional Support (video marketing and case studies):

The community centre is looking for support to showcase their work and the positive impact they have on their local community. This will be invaluable in sharing their story and the difference they make through their work, especially when engaging with potential funders. Support needed:

  • Creating a promotional video – highlighting their services and the difference they make.
  • Creating case studies to document the impact they have on their users.

Social Media Support:

Lower Grange Community Centre currently have a Facebook page, where regular updates are posted. They are keen to reach other platforms, but are unsure on how to best use different forms of social media. Support needed:

  • Setting up and how to best use social media pages including Instagram, TikTok and X in order to amplify their reach.

 We are open to working with a wide range of volunteers who are able to help us with any of the four projects above.
