Organisation Details
The Queensbury Community Programme (QCP), established in 1984, enriches the local Queensbury community by providing diverse social and educational opportunities. They offer activities, courses, and a community-managed library with services like a Job Club and a Warm Space. QCP also runs Wellbeing Cafes, fostering community connections and enhancing well-being for all ages by delivering learning, health, recreation, and social benefits.
Challenge Details
QCP have recently taken over running Victoria Hall in Queensbury. The building is in some state of disrepair. To begin welcoming more groups, QCP are looking teams of volunteers to redecorate these spaces:
• Old Library Room – To become community room
• Café Room

Date & Number of volunteers
Open to suggested dates.
We are looking to recruit teams between 10-25 volunteers – larger teams will be considered.
On-site support
On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A ‘Tools Talk’ and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day.
Preparation
Volunteers will be undertaking painting activities and are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing that you will not mind getting paint on. We do offer paint overalls, although these do not guarantee no damage to clothing. We also require sensible sturdy footwear, avoiding heels and open toe footwear. Where personal protective equipment is required, it will be provided.
Materials, tools and equipment
Participate will be providing all tools and materials to support the challenge.
