St Hugh’s Centre, located on Coach Road in Baildon, West Yorkshire, serves as a community hub offering a range of activities, clubs, and services. Facilities include a hall and meeting room available for hire, equipped with central heating, kitchen amenities, and ample off-road parking. The centre also hosts adult learning courses and provides a venue for social gatherings. Additionally, it supports the local community through services like a food bank.

Project Details

The building has not been decorated in 30 years:

• Repainting community spaces
• Repaint toilets
• Repainting corridors
• Ground clearance outdoors

Number of volunteers

We are looking for up to 15 volunteers

 Available dates

Wednesday 5th March 2025

On-site support

On the day Participate will be providing a member of staff to support the volunteers. A trained first aider and first aid kit will be available during the challenge. A tools talk and health and safety briefing will be given by Participate at the beginning of the day.

Preparation

Volunteers will be undertaking painting activities and are required to wear old and reasonably robust clothing that you will not mind getting paint on. We do offer paint overalls, although these do not guarantee no damage to clothing. We also require sensible sturdy footwear, avoiding heels and open toe footwear. Where personal protective equipment is required, it will be provided.

Materials, tools and equipment

Tools and materials will be provided by Participate Projects.
