Zahra awarded Young Active Citizen Award

Zahra joined The Venturists from Byron Primary School, where 15 young people set out to help their community thrive and create social change.

Working alongside our Venturists team, Zahra identified something she wanted to change in her community and developed her project ‘We Are One’.

Zahra’s vision for ‘We Are One’ was to create a project that tackled racism and discrimination. Zahra had a vision for everyone to be kind to one another and this formed the basis of her plan to make the world a better place. With our team and partners Zahra:

  • Developed and delivered a speech to her school about equality and respect
  • Worked alongside REN (Race Equality Network) to develop and deliver workshops to reduce stereotypes and racism in her community

Zahras great idea, passion and enthusiasm really shone through and she was awarded with the Young Active Citizen Award at the Bradford Community Stars Awards.

Zahra said “I’m going to try and make my project get bigger and bigger and spread over Bradford.”
We are so proud of you Zahra and we can’t wait to see what you do next!
