Business team volunteering is a great way to build teams, develop individuals and make a real difference in your community.

We call these Good Team Building Days. They do more than build teams. Working with us, to develop a community project, lets your business invest in the communities you work in. Teams will deliver a project that makes a visible impact whilst building a happy, motivated workforce.

We work with businesses, from some of the largest in the UK to local SMEs, to develop and deliver their team volunteering. Do my team need a DBS to complete schools based projects2023-02-21T15:03:50+00:00

No – When we have projects in school settings all safeguarding is taken care of by our project lead. Any interaction with young people will be under the supervision of the project lead of a member of school staff. This is also covered in our risk assessments we share with you.

Do you cater for additional needs?2023-02-21T15:00:23+00:00

Yes! – Your team day should be assessable to everyone. This is why we always look to identify tasks to complete during your day that cater for everyone’s ability. Where adaptations need to be made, we will make this happen.

Do you need existing ‘trade’ skills?2023-02-21T14:52:02+00:00

No! – Our projects are led by trained professionals who teach and guide you through each activity, from power tools to decorating. We also give a ‘tools talk’ so that everyone attending knows how to properly and safely use equipment. Having some ‘DIY’ experience can be beneficial, but it is not required.

Many people leave our days having learn new ‘trade’ skills.

Where are your projects based?2023-02-21T14:48:05+00:00

The majority of our projects are based in Yorkshire. However, we also deliver projects across the country. We utilise our large network of non-profits to find you the best and most relevant project for your business.

‘Working on projects with Participate is such a joy! We love seeing the positive impact on our local community, and we see the benefits of taking part in a team challenge when we get back to the office. But most of all, we have fun!’

‘Participate have provided us with opportunities for team volunteering and individual volunteering and almost 200 colleagues have been involved. Together we have created community allotments, built sensory school gardens, painted community buildings, wrapped Christmas presents for under privileged children and delivered workshops to aspiring social entrepreneurs. Working with Participate enables Morrisons to make a valuable contribution to the community around our head office’.

‘It was an emotional moment when I stepped into the back garden – a bit like these TV make over programmes!’
